ELM Magazine’s readers are adult education professionals in Europe and around the world. The readership consists of educators, practitioners, advocates, decision makers and academics in the field of adult education.

ELM is committed to the Journalistic guidelines of the Council for Mass media in Finland and to the Global Charter of Ethics for Journalists of International Federation of Journalists.

Our promise to the reader

ELM keeps the reader on the pulse of trends and phenomena in the field of adult learning. It discusses learning in a broad sense, seeing it as a lifelong process comprising formal, informal and non-formal learning, both vocational and liberal adult education.

ELM spreads good practices and knowledge on lifelong learning and adds depth and context into important phenomena. The cornerstones of its articles are reliability and research-based knowledge.

ELM discusses research in an understandable, accessible way. Its aim is to build a bridge between the worlds of research and practitioners strengthening the nexus between them.

ELM also furthers pan-European dialogue and collaboration. It offers a virtual community of colleagues for its readers.
