After 17 years in print, LLinE appears now in digital format. The mission of the journal remains the same: to publish top quality articles with practical relevance on adult education research, policy and good practices. LLinE is unique in Europe, serving the entire adult education field: the researcher, the advocate, the decision-maker and the practitioner.

LLinE’s core remains the same but much will also change with the digital journal.

The most notable change is that LLinE is now free of charge. We want the journal to be truly accessible for all.

Article categories help you navigate to the content that interests you the most.

Intime Ontime offers a snapshot of a topical theme, event or phenomenon. Research presents peer-reviewed or commissioned academic papers with practical relevance. The Policy section may contain research papers as well but they deal more directly with education policy on national and EU levels. In People you meet colleagues, from Europe and beyond. The Advocacy section features versatile material of interest especially to adult education advocates and education NGO people. And don’t forget our book reviews in the eponymous section!

You can comment on articles or distribute them in social media. And should you still prefer the feel of paper in your hands while reading, you can print all articles out as pdf copies.

The official launch of the digital journal takes place with the first issue of 2013, in March. The final version of the digital journal will feature elements not yet present in this current version. For instance, our archive is still under construction but will feature the cream of LLinE content from past years. Likewise, our newsletter service will start as of March. The final version will also boast audiovisual content.

Finally, whereas the journal will retain its quarterly publication rhythm and its thematic orientation, more frequently updated content will play a big part in the final version.

We would like to hear our readers’ opinion on this current ”taster” edition of digital LLinE. You can either open a public conversation in the comment section of this article or send email to markus.palmen@kvs.fi.

As always, we hope you enjoy the journal and this issue, with the important theme of workplace innovation!
